Open-air mining museum
The oldest and the biggest mining museum in Slovakia has two parts. A surface exposition contains exemples of unique mining machines and representation of geological development of Slovakia. Main part of the museum is an underground exposition, where you will, dressed in a mining set, walk throw the Bartolomej tunnel, discover a famous mining works and equipment and learn something about the miners life in the past.

Old Castle
This landmark of Banská Štiavnica is also worth a personal visit. You can find there expositions that show the most famous crafts of Banská Štiavnica – Tobacco pipe workshop, Art of blacksmiths and historical clocks and bells. Other parts of the castle show the oldest archeological finds from the surroundings of Banská Štiavnica, various exhibits from the time of the early development of the city but also a demostration of weapons and torture instruments. In addition, you can also enjoy many new beautiful views of the city from here.

Banská Štiavnica is a beautiful city but maybe even more fascinating is its surrounding. A great way how to discover it is from the bike saddle because you will see much more then you can see while walking.
